To size: To 3mm. Shell Structure: Thin, translucent. Equivalve: Equivalve. Equilateral: Inequilateral, beaks behind the midline. Outline: Obliquely oval, anteriorly expanded, all margins curved.

Sculpture: Primarily of fine co-marginal lines, growth stops and a few weak radial ridges and radial linear inclusions within the shell. Margin: Inner margin smooth. Ligament: Internal on a shallow resilifer below and behind the beaks. Hinge: Both valves with a single anterior laminar tooth. Pallial Musculature: Obscure, pallial line entire. Periostracum: Thin, transparent. Colour: Shell white.

Distribution & Ecology

A commensal species living attached to the anal spines of the heart urchins Spatangus purpureus and Echinocardium flavescens. At shelf depths, widespread.
