To size: To 20mm. Shell Structure: Solid. Equivalve: Equivalve. Equilateral: Equilateral. Outline: Subcircular, anterior ear larger than posterior. Contour: Deep byssal notch with cteniolum of 4 teeth.
Sculpture: 20 acute radial ribs, each bounded by a row of fine spines and finer prockly threads in the interspaces. Margin: Crenulate. Colour: Shades of orange and brown, the left valve darker than the right.
Distribution & Ecology
From South Carolina, Florida, Bahamas and into the Caribbean.
